Another HP post....

Hmm I'm surprised I didn't see much HP in my LJ's friends....
But anyways....
I've been trying to finish reading book 5 for the last few days (cutting myself off from the world besides work) so I don't get any surprises in the movie version XD;; But I had like 100 pages left to read when my co-workers and I headed to watch the movie today XD;; I tried reading some more while I was at the theatre, but they have noisy commercial screening rather than silent screening before the movie showed T_T;; So hard to concentrate....Then after the movie I went back home and finished reading the book XD
The cinematography of this film was quite impressive. It was so richly textured, I was getting inspired every scene I looked. The room particularly at Grimmaud place was beautifully designed. It was a pity they didn't show more of it. And the Ministry hq looked so cool with the black marbles.
The visual effects were also just neat. When they turn into ghostly vapors from the Death Eater and Orders. They all looked so cool when they appeared XD!! Reminded me of some sorta RPG or something XD;;
The movie and book version: Obviously they had to cut down the book version to fit with the time frame of the movie. But I think they preetty much took what was important in the book and made a cliffnote movie version XD;; A lot of stuff in Book 5 could have been reduced. There was too much detail...or useless scenes to get to the main point. Still I enjoyed the little bits in the book that the movie left out. Oh well. I'm just happy to see some scenes in visuals...because I can't really visualize the description as clearly.
They completely removed Quidditch. It's becoming less apparent in the movie version. And what happened to Hermoine's kiss on Ron's cheek D: They totally didn't make a big deal of it in the book >_>;; The two looked like they were flirting at each other ever so often with their comments and gaze at each other XD;;; Also...I wanted to see the scene of Snape's school day memory more longer! I wonder if Sirius was in the background... But the darn camera movement was so blurry.
The ending of the movie versions were particularly weak. There doesn't seem to have closure or explanations to certain things...but I guess no one wants to stay in the theatre for 3++ hours. I found a better closure to the book, so I'm satisfied.
Since Book 7 is coming out soon, I'll start reading Book 6 so that I can finish the HP series by this summer XD!
