Aside from anime, I've been also watching drama while I draw on the computer.

Dexter Season 1-4. At first I was really afraid of watching this show from the first 3 episode, cuz I hate gore/violence/killing....but the mystery and suspense of each episode kept me going thru each episode and before I realized it, I was already at Season 4. The last episode of Season 4 actually made me tear up ;o; Need to get the next boxset soon!

Hungry! Jdrama. The main guy who failed at debuting in his rock band, goes back home to work at his mom's little french restaurant, since he was trained pretty young in culinary. But she passes away and the restaurant is later taken over by this businessman, so he starts up his own french restaurant in this warehouse. I really like how straight forward they show the reality of starting a restaurant, even if his cooking is great, he needs to reach out to customer and need to make money to keep the store running. There's sorta a love triangle, but the main characters doesn't reciprocate to the other girl, even flat out stated he has no feeling for her (he even has his own girlfriend). It wasn't like that cringe worthy Ikemen Desu Ne love triangle. Chie and Taku moments were so cute. The food in the show looks so delicious~! Reminds me of a bit of Yakitate!Japan with how food can help lighten the mood. This was a pretty nice fun drama~

After watching South Park and Comedy Central Presents, I didn't have anything consistent to watch. I'm more into comedy right now. I'm on an anime break since I've watched enough last year haha. I watched some more J-drama. Finished Tokyo Dogs and Yankee-kun to Megane-chan. Started the manga, but got interrupted with school starting. I've been watching Scrubs Season 2-4 before going to bed. Almost done with 4! Still waiting on How I Met Your Mother season 5 to be cheap....

Anyways, [livejournal.com profile] sjen recommended what I should prioritize watching haha. So now I have decided to watch them in these order. I have to separate what I watch at work and at home :P

Work:
Pushing Daisies
Glee (sjen did not recommend haha)

Home:
Scrubs Season 4
Boston Legal Season 4+
Supernatural (before anime comes out!)
Firefly

(I'm holding off morbid/heavy drama until school semester is done haha. I don't want to be depressed.)

Dexter
House (my sisters been watching this nonstop + i bought all the dvd)
True Blood
Mad Men

Finished watching! After watching Tumbling...no drama can come close haha. But it was cute in its own cheesy way. Adachi reminds me of Yankumi!!! So I always thought she'll bust her moves in the middle of the episode....but then I'm reminded she's just a high schooler trying to fit in! I kept thinking Shinagawa reminds me of another actor from Gokusen....oh wait, they're the same actor! Doh!! Isn't he old for the role? haha... He's born in 82? waaay past high school now. His character is so conflicted XD;;

The ending felt like Gokusen as well!! But near the ending credit, it was really cute *w*

Anyways I'll try reading the manga later...

(this isn't even a review...more of a rambling haha)

Finally finished the final episode! I LOVE IT!!!!! *moves it at the top of my jdrama list*

I think I've cried the most time in this series for every episode than most drama I've seen. They cry so much in this series, it makes me all teary. And the theme song just gets to you at the right moment!! *sniff* Anyways, nice ending unlike Shiroi Haru!! Their final performance was like watching your kids growing up XD It was to their style and all their training throughout the series was put into good use into the performance.

The power of friendship and overcoming obstacles in this series is touching! T^T Every character is well developed. Wataru is so cool! He gets so much cool line it makes me cry when he says it. Yuta was practically awesome in the last few episode. The acting was not too cheesy compared to other j-drama. Plus every actor does their own performance!

I recommend watching it if you get the chance~

I'm itching to try drawing L.A. drama fanart.

Okay since I got interested in Men's Rhythmic Gymnastics, I decided to watch the tv drama based around that sport, Tumbling.

Azuma Wataru, a third-year student at Karasumori High School, is a devil who strikes fear in the hearts of people. One day, Azuma is told by his form teacher that he has to participate in a club activity in order to make up for the lack of second-year students. The short-tempered Azuma cannot last long in whatever he does. At that moment, he learns that Satonaka Mari, the beautiful transfer student in his class, has joined the female rhythmic sports gymnastics club. He joins the male rhythmic sports gymnastics club, a club activity with very few people under the captain, Takenaka Yuta. They are ridiculed by the coach of the female rhythmic sports gymnastics club, and others, and are also hardly allowed to use the gym. However, when a sixth boy joins the club, Yuta decides to take part in a team competition with his long-sought six members... dramawiki

Its sooooooooooooooooo sport shonen. In a good way. From the sport manga I've read, it has a mix of delinquent drama (like Slam Dunk and Gokusen), rooting for the underdog (Eyeshield 21) and entering a female-dominated sport (Waterboys). Plus Wataru is in many ways like Hanamichi XD Red hair for starters hahaha... A delinquent who joins because he's fallen for a girl haha.

So go watch it!! Tho its only 3 episodes so far: http://www.dramacrazy.net/japanese-drama/tumbling-episode-1/

Didn't know it came out already! Already 5 episodes in. Watched 2 episodes so far. Quick thoughts:

-Who the hell is this little boy??!!! Get out of Wallflower!!! A lot of focus for the main characters are gone, because now we have to pity this boy?!! Take him out!! New characters shouldn't be added in a anime/manga based drama T_T Also it takes away the whole dirty stuff that happens in the series.

-Kamenashi Kazuya as Kyouhei: Actually I think he did a fairly good job in portraying his character. Arrogant. Funny reaction and timing. Though not quite Kyouhei.
-Come to think of it, I haven't seen a shirtless Kyouhei in the first two episode...isn't that his asset?

-Oomasa Aya as Sunako: I think the role will grow with the actor. She looks like Sunako. I was really hoping to see her in that german uniform when she rescued Kyohei
-Disappointed that Oomasa didn't cut her bang. That is one of Sunako's trademark!! It was also for me a defining moment in the manga when she did it. Maybe later episode? *crossfinger*

-Uchi Hiroki as Takenaga: He has this very nice cool air about him. Not sure if its right for him...but he's seems so nice haha. He comes off cold in the manga.

-Miyao Shuntaro as Ranmaru: This dude looks so old from the rest haha! But he plays off that playboy thing well.

-Tegoshi Yuya as Yuki: A character that comes off to friendly or feminine is a difficult role to play...he'll come off gay if done wrong. He's not cute as I think he could be...

-The thing screwy about the first two episodes, is they mixed a bunch of chapters from later parts of the manga into the beginning....also I felt the introduction was weak on Sunako's part. It felt like a bunch of arcs were mixed into one episode at a time. Could have developed character better...and get rid of that boy!! He's cute, but he's not part of the series to begin with!!! There's no need to focus on him.

-Also they're college students? Ahh no uniform T__T What's with that cape Sunako?!!

Anyways, I think I'll still follow the drama just for kicks. The manga and anime styles aren't the greatest either so, seeing a live action version is a nice guilty pleasure XD

Drama series: http://www.veoh.com/users/mies219

I think I might have found a manga series I might enjoy *A* DaigoAnn!!! <3 So cute. I love Hinako Ashihara's style *A* 'Skimming through the stack of Shojo Beat for their scenes haha. Now if I can get my hand on Volume 1....

Also HachiKuro's manga style is pretty *A* Loose scratchy lineart is lovely~~~ I still have to watch the second season!! Is the drama/movie worth watching? D:

I wish I could do those shoujo manga style with thin loose linearts T___T The anatomy on the chara aren't even perfect...but they just work so well overall!!

I tried watch [livejournal.com profile] milk_of_lime's recommendation (?) of RH Plus...sorry, it was too cheesy haha! I end trying to watch Princess Princess D while I was at it...it was bad as well!! ORZ. I tried out watching another series: ChocoMimi...wth...ORZ. Aren't there anymore good J-drama like Nodame??? D:

Let see, plans for this weekend:
-Wart Removal (another one????)
-Ink doujinshi
-50 thumbnail compositions
-Plant+Rock painting
-Research essay on China's One-child Policy
-Read Dogs and Demons
