Been meaning to get to this. I think I'm following 17 series this time! So many!! I thought last season was pretty strong, but this season seems to be the same as well. The quality of anime these past years has been strong. Aside from all the moe shows, there still a decent amount of good ones :3 Although I'm missing Gintama and Natsume so much T3T

Sunday
Kimi to Boku 2 (1-4) So far I've enjoyed most of the episodes! Especially putting the Chizuru/Mary and the Twins fight so early on. Its looking to be a strong season :3

Wednesday
Lupin III: Mine Fujiko (1-2) This show is so hard to watch if my family members are around. Fujiko keeps taking her clothes off...Its definitely got unique style. After finishing Cowboy Bebop recently, I think it has that similar episodic feel. I will watch more when family members aren't around haha.

Thursday
Eureka Seven Ao (1-3) I was actually excited for this sequel. It feels distant from the original, but yet has that familiarity. Ao also seems like a very strong likeable protaganist. So much portrayal of discrimination, awesome 2d mecha battle, and introduction of likeable characters already in the first 3 episode. I think I have high hope it'll be a good season. The original had some meandering for its length, so hopefully this will be a tight solid series.

Natsuiro Kiseki (1-3) I sometimes watch series with all girls like Hanasaku Iroha lol. Its not exactly moe, so its so far enjoyable. Plus its Seji Mizushima...which is a weird move after Un-Go. There were a few moments that reminded me of my childhood like having a neighbor who was my best friend moving out or me getting upset over said friend for little things and saying we aren't friends anymore. The supernatural elements adds a nice little twist to it as well. Hopefully a decent show about friendship.

Sakamichi no Apollon (1-3) Never head of this series before until the anime was announced. Again, finished Cowboy Bebop, and so having the director and Yoko Kanno return for an adapation of a josei manga is a treat. Its looks like a high quality series with fluid animation, cinematography, seiyuu, music etc. I ended up buying 6 volumes of the manga so I can sorta get ahead. Looks like they covered almost 2 volumes already @_@

Shirokuma Cafe (1-4) SO FREAKIN CUTE!!! FukuJun and Kamiya does some pretty funny voice for Panda and Penguin. I like how they incorporate each animals quirk to whatever situation they are in. And they're walking around among human as if its natural haha. This series makes me smile overall XD

Tsuritama (1-3) Anime covers practically everything. I didn't think I would learn about fishing! Don't you just throw the line in the water and sit and wait for a fish to take the bait? Nope, there's a technique to it! Adding the boy whose face turns ugly when he gets nervous and drowns in an imaginary water +alien thing + duck organization, its been ridiculously entertaining. Plus tying back to an emotional level with family issues. The background art and overall color palette is very eyecandy *O* Looks like a fun quirky anime to look forward to everyweek.

Friday
Area no Kishi (1-17) Damn this series is so poor quality...I think it takes a burn for being animated by a company that does mostly children show. So the animation overall is sloppy. They don't make the game intense like Oofuri. The rival teams seem like we're just trying to move on from one to the next without really caring for anyone. I don't know everyone's name yet. Not sure how the manga is, but everything isn't as enticing. Yet I'm still watching it haha. Still waiting to see Kakeru's potential and Araki losing his weight. Wait, the director did Kuroshitsuji II, which I thought was excellent....

Saturday

Fate/Zero 2 (1-3) It's already battle royal mode! Uwaaah Lancer baby is gone!!! Kinda fear this season since only a few manages to survive in the end. So it'll just suck watching each one fall. So I'm reserving from cheering anyone on. Not sure if its me but the animation seems to look even better.

Kuroko no Basuke (1-3) Now this is high quality sport anime by Production IG! The animation is lovely esp that opening. Hoping the characters are likeable tho haha. For Slam Dunk, each individual players were valuable, so hoping those other players aren't just background characters cuz I have yet to remember their name or appearance. The idea of the Generation of Miracles is pretty cool. Its like a quest to beat them all like Pokemon gym leader haha.

Moretsu Pirate (1-16) This show is so slow, I don't quite know why I'm still watching it but I'm far ahead. It needs a little more drama or enemy, because everything is too fine and dandy. So much lackluster...but I guess its slice of life in space. At least the girls still haven't fallen into the annoying category. At least the soundtrack is great haha. Next episode looks a bit exciting?

Poyopoyo Kanatsu Niki (1-16) Not much to say since its like 2 minute, but keep being cute Poyo!

Space Brothers (1-3) Can't remember if I ever watched any seinen titles...so this is a different perspective. The world of adults, although one is a failure. Another thing I didn't think I would learn about, astronauts! Looking at the directors work, he did mostly Doreaemon? A huge jump in target audience XD

Sunday

Aquarion Evol (1-18) This series is just plain ridiculous in a sense its a fun comedy romance series in a private academy with mecha. Almost in the way Utapuri is kinda over the top and it just works that way. Now if they can just focus on the main plot....something to do with that other womanless planet and whatever their main threat is? Also the weird love triangles going on. I wonder how that will get resolved. Also, lovely songs by Akino and Grabiela Robin. I almost want to watch the first series so I can get a better understanding who these Apollo and Syphie were.

Hiiro no Kakera (1-4) 4 episodes in and I'm still not sure what is the plot/threat about. Probably distracted by the bishies closeup hahaa. The main girl, Tamaki, although easily weak from asthma attack or whatever, is the type to not sit around and let others protect her which is waaay better of a lead than Chizuru (Hakuouki, although adorable that she is). Also all the guys are jerks that just makes fun of her rather than charm or flirt with her. The villain costume are a bit over the top. Looks like they all came from different series XD;;; Not qutie a guilty pleasure like Hakuoki, but I want to see where it goes.

Hyouka (1) So its about a guy who wants to conserve his energy (lazy?) but joins a classic club (what is that even?) because his sister asked him to. And then he meets a girl whose eyes are very reflective and she traps you with her curiousity with her hair suddenly (figuratively) growing and tangling the entire room. I don't think I've actually watched many KyoAni stuff (FMP, Haruhi) so I'm sensing a similar style? Although there was waaay too may talking for me to keep up, the animation is BEAUTIFUL!!!! *O* Even if I don't quite get it, I think I'll be enjoying its overall visual, plus cute character designs.

Phi Brain S2 (1-3) New season~!! Love the opening *O* 'been replaying it on my winamp at work XD Already the series jumps right into the villain introduction and puzzles rather than slowly leading us through side quest first. The puzzle is really intense than before. They've even included how Kaito solves the puzzle rather than sorta skimming over it. Although I'm not smart, so I would still not get it (like Nonoha). It seems like they're going through all the minor characters from their school first, so we learn more about them. Reminds me of Utena's Black Rose saga. Also we get to see more of the school, since most of the puzzles in the past were away from the campus. The animation also seemed to have improved. Nonoha looks cuter than before haha. I will miss Rook tho. It will be interested in seeing Freecell past being uncovered and why is he stalking Kaito.

I'm sooooo behind on anime-watching, but reading your blurbs makes me want to catch up so badly!

But eeeee, tsuritama is so awesome~! Eureka Seven Ao too~! (And that's pretty much the only things I'm up to date on, hahaha)

The original Aquarion series is a lot of fun (often super ridiculous fun), I recommend checking it out!

Your icon~!! I always like that art but never really knew where it was from before.
If the current Aquarion Evol is already ridiculous for me, I guess I should be able to watch the original series XD Though the animation looks pretty outdated haha.

Hahahaha, yeah, the animation isn't… so new and shiny any more, but it's not… bad? The CG in it especially sort of bugged me. I'm not up to date with Evol, so I don't know if it's more or less crack, but at the very least it's fun. XD;; I hope you like it if you do get around to watching it (and I think it might be on Hulu?).

The original Aquarion series is still one of my favorite cheesy mecha series to date-- ridonkulous love quadrahedrons with ghei angels, you cannot go wrong! There's nekkid gattai all over the place. ^o^ Be sure to catch the OVA after you watch the TV series, if you feel so inclined. <3

I haven't watched Evol yet, tho I've been stashing it away from a post-finished marathon this summer. ^^;

I did not know there was a new Lupin III series going, I will have to check that out. Speaking of new-retro... I see they're doing a new Saint Seiya too, with the same art as Casshern Sins-- have you watched that one at all? I haven't yet myself.

LOL. It sounds like nothing changed between the original and sequel. My friend showed me a youtube clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjuZjkHFbdo) of their gattai when I was considering watching Evol. It's so AWKWARD to watch! Evol does the same thing tho but more toned down haha. I'll check it out after Evol XD

I haven't watched the new Saint Seiya yet D: Planning on watching it in batches. But it looks pretty retro even if its made now. I'm assuming you've watched the old Lupin III and Saint Seiya?

I happen to love retro anime done up new in the shiny animation technology (mmmmmm HD~), while still keeping the aesthetics of retro. There's a slew of franchises that I've been watching over the years with each new sequels or reboot they bring out.

Yes, I grew up watching these shows when I was a little girl. My favorite (Japanese) shows to watch when I was little was Lupin III, Captain Harlock/Galaxy Express universe, Yamato, Gatchaman, Macross/Robotech, original Gundam, Voltron, and later, Saint Seiya. <333 Retro art style has such a quality to it that I adore. ^___^ But I am just old. You probably still love the cartoons you grew up watching, too.

I think I was born past those time haha. I still want to watch Harlock!! But I did watch a little bit of Robotech and Voltron back in the days through VHS and PBS. Oh definitely, I still love the old cartoons from what I remember haha XD
