Favorite characters usually dies

I'm getting sick of it...am I attracted to self sacrificial character?? The type of character that lends his life to be a wake up call for the "main" character. The doormat!!



There's probably more...but the ones I have in minds are my most favorite in the series I've watched.

-One Piece: Ace!!!!!
WHY??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the objective of the whole arc was to save him!!!! FAIL!!

-Code Geass: Rolo
I already ranted this a while ago...but the music made me cry for at least 30 minutes. Than I rewatched it and cried some more. I freakin have a poster on my wall of him with angel wing.

-Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Kamina
Ah I totally cried watching it for the first time. Obviously its for Simon to grow up...but damn his energy was amazing.

-Final Fantasy VII: Aerith
My first introduction to a sacrifice of my favorite character...I still hate Sephy for that.

Gundam 00: Lockon
Posted a reaction to that as well. The finger pointing gun was memorable.

Evangelion: Kaworu
Even for 15 minutes of screentime, he instantly became my most favorite in Eva...

Lord of the Flies: Simon
Soo innocent...died from such brutal attacks.

Hmm who else....or who's next?

I would have felt more from Kamina's death if I hadn't already been spoiled about it.

I think you have a thing for tragic (and doomed) characters. =P

yeah...it wouldn't have much of an impact i guess. i watched it when the episodes were airing, so I didn't get spoiled XD

Ack, the only two series here I was familiar with was Eva and LotF XD; but yes, simon is my favorite too! and eva, eva... maybe... probably rei is my favorite. but i like all of them actually!

I am sad that Ace died too!! ;_; I don't even follow OP anymore, but... waugh, when a character in OP ACTUALLY DIES you don't really believe it hahah... :(

yeah because they usually come back alive. i thought cp9 was killed off...but nooooo.....

these characters are probably too good or overshadowing the protagonist that they had to die!! DX

The first main chara to ever die in a series I watched and loved was Roy Focker in Macross. Soooo sad... T_T It was a shock, at the time in the 80's, to see a show that would do such a thing.
