There's been a stray rabbit that's been visiting our front yard everyday. Its not even afraid of us, so I always try to take a picture of it. One day, it was before sunset, and I told my dad if we can try capturing it.

Dad: Yeah, go capture it for Grandpa to make rabbit soup out of it.
Me: Noooo!! Nevermind, don't capture it.

This brings back memory when we had a big turtle in our backyard in those recycling bin filled with water.

Us: Yay! New pet!!

The next day: TURTLE SOUP
Us: *cries*

Proverb: "Chinese eats anything with four legs except a table."

I think it's kind of awesome that your family knows how to prepare live animals for food! Especially with the skinning and the.. the turtle can't be easy...

Must be a generational thing. Like, my dad knows how to butcher hunks of animal flesh and do the live!animal-->food thing for shellfish/fish, but that's not really the same as knowing how to strip the pelt off a rabbit or extract a turtle from its shell (seriously, HOW?)

How does the saying go again? "If it has four legs and its back to the sun, eat it"? Ugh... my uncle slaughtered one of his pet rabbits and cooked it for the family to eat. T_____T

Chinese people not only eat things with four legs, they eat things with no legs. like shark fin, sea cucumber, snake, etc. xD i think the only animal with fours legs that is not eaten is horse. good thing since i like them. xD
