Skip Beat's male head....

Every time I watch skip beat, I winced at the male characters head from the frontal view. They're supposed to be bishonen...but they don't look like one when their jaw is slopping straight diagonal from their zygomatic...Give them some jaw and skull!!! Seriously... still can't get used to it because it feels like they're missing some bone structure.

So I took the initiative to fix the head just to see how they would look. For now, I did a quick edit on Ren. Maybe I'll do Sho later...

Much better I think... =w=;; Tho I made the jaw shorter. But still tolerable.

I think I want to do more later haha...just so I can believe they're supposed to look handsome. Having a long jaw is possible...like Atsuko Nakajima style...But at least she has some hints of some jaw line.

The original model sheet style of how they drew the face reminds me of the old school way they would draw bishonen. It was always very off putting to me to look at them.

I managed to get used to the Wallflower style after a few episodes (the overly feminized guys with big lips) but I can't seem to ignore skip beat....it's so unnatural!!!

I love me some Skip Beat. And honestly I tend not to pay too much attention to the animation quality or drawing style because it's usually not too great. But now that mention it his face is indeed pretty strange looking on the front view there.

Anyway, looked fun so I did one too. ho ho ho

Yeah, I kinda hate that old shoujo style. I couldn't STAND really old-school CLAMP. Took me until the middle of X to start liking them @_@;

I dunno, I ... kinda like the way the characters are designed. XD The jawline doesn't bother me at all, ahahahah~ ^^;;

What usually bothers me is Ren's height compared to everyone around him -- he's a freakin' giant! O_O Do people really grow that tall?? Or maybe everyone in the Skip Beat universe is just short?? =P

lol yeah...when i first started to read the manga i found them kinda weird looking at times..i also thought, they dont look handsome... ^^; but i got used to it after awhile..maybe you would too *pats your shoulder* xD

BTW (i read a couple entries down your journal), i'm also very much not convinced by the avatar casting people casting dev patel as zuko. i mean, i absolutely adore dev and i think he's a heck of an actor, and he can probably do a pretty good zuko if it comes down to it, but... it's the principle of the thing. just no. >.<
