LOL. The last time I was happy about Ouran was 2 years ago and before the last episode of the anime. Remember me just ranting happily about HikaHaru? XD;; Now its like "Damnit Hatori wth...." or "NOOOO TamaHaru..."

Like you, my interest in Haruhi is almost non existant. What I"m curious about now is 1. Will Hikaru be happy when all is said and done.. and also

Tamaki's 'trauma/whatever'. Alot of people think it's tragic that he feels like falling in love hurts other people. In my opinion....

GUESS WHAT - In love triangles falling in love results in people getting hurt. Cold hard facts people, the sooner you face the truth the better.

So I am glad that at the very least he acknowledges Hikaru's pain in some form. What I'm worried though, is that Hatori may just have Hikaru give up and thus.. Tamaki doesn't have to deal with the truth. He'll go back to the 'oh isn't life great and full of sunshine and sparkle fluff!!11eleveny' state of mind

I remember that! We would happily rant about our OTP and then it soon got crushed with all this..cliche stuff Ouran has now ;; I don't know why Hatori went down that road. It kinda killed her originality with Haruhi's ever loveable personality. Now she's so shoujo, it hurts my eyes. (At this point, Mikan from Gakuen Alice is the best Female Protagonist in shoujo for me.)

Sorry, but in my opinion, you really should never compromise the integrity of your work for money

oh man, I just consider my self lucky that I didn't get sucked into the shipping wars then until .. the 6th book.. I was disappointed.. but at the very least I didn't feel like I wasted so many years invested into something that wasn't really there.

Selling better is nice but shoot, killing what all those volumes built up for her personality isn't so wise...

I shipped the obvious. Harry/Hermione. I can't stand what she did to the fans in volume six. I almost killed the book. She not only ruined a well-developed relationship, overly loved by the fandom and the movie itself; she also killed the chance of hope for any open-ending with her stupid epilogue.

On the side, I ship a guilty Draco/Hermione because the tension? That's pretty interesting.

I saw the ship wars and strayed away from them. That was when HarryHermione seemed as if it was going to win the RonMione shippers. Then again, I'd rather not get into that again...;\

The problem is, most of the fans don't think that what Hatori has done is bad thing. The don't see Haruhi as becoming a typical shoujo heroine. No, it's character development. It's perfectly normal to get nervous like that, they say. and oh yeah.. couldn't forget the fact that Haruhi blushing is CUTE, right?

Interesting though, not sure if you know this, but Hatori has actually commented on her introduction of romance (I remember you mentioning this, gem2niki, and someone else has posted the quote at the Frop

The story of Host Club has been progressing at a leisurely pace. But now it's starting to get more romantic! In the beginning I couldn't wait to start drawing the romantic stuff, but now that I'm 10 volumes in, I wonder if I will be able to introduce change in the characters' relationships and tie everything together nicely. I'm really scared!!

Yeah, I liked Harry/Hermione too. Gah. huge mess that was.. would you be surprised if I said I liked it after the Interview of Doom and HBP? I was hoping for a spectacular twist. I think I have to stop giving authors too much credit >_

As much as I don't want to burst anyone's bubble.. as much as I'm not disappointed in Hikaru's determination (but dammit Hatori, if he's going to not give up Haruhi.. then damn well don't do a repeat of what Kaoru did and just back out - keep him to his word)

I too am worried about Haruhi's reaction.. This isn't anything conrete, of course, but from what I've heard.. this is what she says

Stupid Hika confessing when she's distracted by the phone XD;;; But he repeats his confession in the above image XD Now I'm waiting for the reaction after this chapter. And yes!! I was trying to think of where I saw that Hikaru face before *points at his confident face* and it was during the date!~~ I'm so happy for Hikaru in this chapter! He really is the only character who changed so much since the start of the series and we're seeing more of his character development! *dances*
