I have to say this. Hikaru's a great character and I have really grown to love him but in this resent chapter he struck a nerve because he reminded me so much of this guy I know that fucked up a friend of mine's life. So since you said you feel sorry for him I have to say this because I would probably too if I hadn't been in situations with guys like him before. I DO NOT WANT HIM TO BE WITH HARUHI ANYMORE. Why? because angsty angry guys like that are not just fixed by romantic relationships. Until he grows up he should not be in that type of relationship. Ladies, I know it's easy to go crazy for a guy that beats himself of you but it isn't healthy. When you date a guy like that and get into a fight with his whole world falls apart and he totally expects you to fix it. Tamaki can hold his own, which is a healthier way to be in a dating relationship. You can be friends with an insercure person like Hikaru, that's fine and healthy but to date is not.
So. I hope Hatori has Hikaru mature if she's going to have them get together. And with the most resent two chapters, I think there is still a cahnce of that. Haruhi may be in love with Tamaki, but he doesn't look like he's capable of admitting he feels that way about her, so that might be a deadend relationship. But maybe not. Still, when they were digging for treasure, Tamaki dug up an empty treasure box and Hikaru found the real treasure when he wasnt even trying.... you know how Hatori loves her forshadowing and symbolism...
