Hehehehe well for figure drawing classes they purposely give *not* appealing (no offense) models so the artists pay more attention to the wrinkles, shapes, technical stuff and whatnot, rather than the models themselves... though half of the time that's quite impossible to ignore 8D;
Uhm, I suggest looking through Heise's gallery, for she has some really nice older works w/ abs:
