When I first watched Eyeshield21, I immediately thought their interaction was something to look forward to X3 Too bad I stopped following the series a while back (no time to watch all the anime! no scanlations! D.Gray-man OTP. It probably Lavi protective nature over Lenalee that makes me adore this pairing. The anime seems to push the pairing a little bit with some of the episodes X3
