Code Geass: Rolo's Redemption

I'm reading through the internet and stuff on episode 19, and some reviews were saying how Rolo didn't deserve such a death.... Is it me, or people who hate Rolo for killing Shirley (and his intent to kill Nunnally) want to see him die a horrible death?

For me, I didn't care much about Shirley's death >_>;; It's more pity... Same with Euphie (but her was really out of wack). Shirley was living a lie. She eventually had to die or even commit suicide (which she attempted...) If it wasn't Rolo, someone would have killed her, or get killed by accident. She needed to die for the plot to move on.

Rolo was far from knowing human compassion or common sense. His instinct is killing. All he knows is killing since he was a kid. So while everyone see it was wrong to kill Shirley, from his point of view, it was natural instinct. Kill your threat. Even of the slightest threat. Yet he hesitates to kill Lulu immediately because he was slightly hopeful that he can gain something from Lulu. He only started to understand more about human feelings when he starts feeling jealousy...but haven't learned how to properly handle that...as we noticed... ^^;;

Anyways, I think Rolo had a little wake up call after Lulu yelling at him. But he still saved Lulu holding onto that false hope that Lulu is his brother. And his words that he finally became human and not a tool was freaking touching.... I think he redeemed himself and learned something about being human.

For some reason his death really struck me. I can't sleep without thinking his last moments. When I watch his last scenes again using his Geass I still tear up!!! *sniffles*

I'll go cry some more.....and draw lots of Rolo fanarts. (Rolo/Nunnally perked my interest after hearing about her death....haha)

I just wanted to rant my thoughts...
