Tron rant.... [end spoiler]

I can't name other movie on the top of my head right now but I think there is a pattern out there for some movies....but I really hate it when the goal of the film was to rescue someone but in the end, that someone decides to sacrifice themselves. So really, that rescuer just came in and killed off that someone. (Something similar is a character trying to redeem himself...and in the end sacrifice himself to save others.)

Come on, I want my rescue pay off!!!! Plus, why the freak does a computer chick get to live and not the human being? The chick didn't even get much of a development for me to even care about her wanting to see the real world and she gets to live???

I think the movie will be successful for the eye candy and music....so much eye candy haha. Love Daft Punk's music in the movie!! *just bought it*

And another rant, I seriously hate 3D. I tried watching them a few times now, and it just terrible. You're not getting to appreciate the full composition of the film. The pop effect is just a distraction or "ouu" factor. But does it really add to the film's story? Not really. And everything is blurry in some movements, even just the tilt of your head you get out of the illusion. Movie should be appreciated with the naked eye! Not thru some lens (unless its your glasses). It was also distracting with the characters not belonging in the space. They feel like some staged documentary or indie film....it just doesn't look right (same complaint with Daawn Treader). And the CG effects look more fake with the 3d. Am I the only one noticing this? There's this whole thing with digital camera....its too clean? Lack of graininess or that film quality. Ugh digital age.

Oh, don't get me started with 3D. It's just a gimmick that people of the movie industry have so they can draw in folks to watch their works. It's like "Look at me, I'm all new, hip and with the times," but really, it makes the movies far worse. Like old 3D movies that used the red and blue separation, they always have moments (that seem very unnatural) where objects are purposely coming at you, just to prove they are making 3D movies. It's really makes the films look poorly executed. Same goes for 3D movies today.

And yes, all the CG effects added appear more fake because of this too. When making films, you're shooting things that are three-dimensional that later becomes two-dimensional. Then adding in the SFX, those things are still two-dimensional, although modeled three-dimensional. Trying to convert all of that into a 3D movie becomes a mess. Some things in the foreground or background get moved around incorrectly in the space while things out of focus still stay in 2D.

When watching Alice in Wonderland on a 3D TV, things are way too crisp and smooth, making it unreal visually... Like a movie with a purikura filter on throughout the whole thing. It's too perfect. No flaws on people's skin, no grimy feel. The setting looks obviously created not natural and so on. Films are supposed to make feel like you can live in the world that is created... To make you believe everything that's given to you. If they can't do that, then it is unsuccessful.

God I hope they stop. Imagine if it were 20 years later and we look back at the movies of this time, people will wonder why the heck did they make that shot where the stuff is coming at you or this weird camera angle that really makes no sense.

I only feel 3d was effective in super long shots. But when its actors all up in your face, its just very hard to watch.
