。。o(´^`)o ウー

Haha I'm writing jibberish Japanese. Teresa feel free to help correct me XD;; (since I haven’t gone far with the grammar like with "ん" or "と"…) It's just a thought that I've been always thinking.... orz

I'm thinking about minoring in Graphic Design...or learning Webdesigning since it seems like I do a lot with that and get paid for it.....yet have no real training XD;;

*goes back to work on Fanime stuff*

アートな友達
アートの友達

Aw, totally understandable. Our anime club formed a small subgroup called "Fresh Produce" (haha, we were adjacent to your table at Fanime 05) and people just come together and draw. ^^ (Though I don't go much to it anymore... because of classwork.)

[identity profile] gem2niki.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
*goes to correct* Haha, adjacent...I think I remember them...sort of.

I don't really want an art group...but a buddy since I'll be too lazy to attend a group meet most of the time *we have baau for that* XD;;

[identity profile] ayabai.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
美術の友達(「アート」も大丈夫かもしれないけど、ちょっと変と思う)
「さびしいな人」じゃなくて「寂しい人」
日本語の勉強がんばってねv
wow do you really not have people to draw with...? but arent you taking art classes and know people from there...?

[identity profile] gem2niki.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the correction XD;;

I seriously don't have anyone haha...*goes off emoing*

Most are classmates that I talk to in class...but since I transferred recently, I don't really know anyone to hang out with and draw outside of class.

[identity profile] ayabai.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
aw man i hate that new kid feeling (i know it well, i went to three different high schools because we moved from atlanta to hong kong to bay area when i was a teen >_>;; )
generally i tend to gravitate towards artist peoples so my closest friends are artists~ maybe look for organizations and stuff on campus? id also say try hanging out with baau, but the golden ages of baau are over, most of the new people are freaks XD;;; well, maybe itll rise from the ashes or a new cool art group will arise~ you can always try starting one up at your school too!

[identity profile] ayabai.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
o and ps honto = hontou, 本当

[identity profile] gem2niki.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
Ou no wonder the kanji didn't show up in the word processor.

Haha what did happen to baau?? XD;; (I had Ian in one my art class XD!) It's more like I want to find a buddy than a group to befriend to haha. We do have an illustration/animation club at school, but there are a lot of people there and not much time to get to know people personally. But hopefully I'll meet someone one day haha D:

[identity profile] ayabai.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
sorry to correct so much but i noticed a few other things XD; たくさん人はRLの友達と描くがいると思います is a weird sentence, better to say たくさん人は一緒に描くRL友達がいると思います。
アートの友達がいるとわかっている if you're trying to say 'i know that ive got internet art friends' that と should be は bc with と it grammatically becomes a diff sentence, kind of more 'it turned out to be'
やっぱり本当に寂しい人ですね is i guess technically correct but sounds unnatural, 「やっぱり寂しいですね」is better
hmm i dont know if it helps but think less of translating english -> japanese and try hard to train your brain just to think in japanese, watch and listen to japanese carefully to pick up a sense of how the language works naturally, and read a lot~

lol i dunno what happened to baau. i think its that the original people moved onto other things, and then the club started getting more wellknown with baaudown released, so a bunch of weirdos started joining up :(

yah an art buddy is definitely best, i hope you'll meet one soon!

[identity profile] gem2niki.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks a lot Wen~~!! I've only started Japanese this last semester haha. Yes must train my brain~~ @_@;;

I just graduated with a degree in Graphic Design. You'd be amazed at how much of web stuff is done by poeple with GD degrees. At least with a GD degree, you'd be covered overall.

[identity profile] gem2niki.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, how was the overall experience in college aiming for a GD degree? XD *curious since I'm heading for an Animation/Illustration major*

Hehe I do wonder if it's worth the degree or is it just better to self teach myself as I've always been doing.

[identity profile] psychosako.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
i guess it depends on what you like to do.

If you like doing collateral (caps, bags, boxes, posters, etc) and other print stuff, (like applying illustrations to stuff), the gd is teh awesome. For me personally, they made me take alot of web stuff, though apparently i could have taken animation stuff for my tech electives if wanted to. :P

Design is difficult to teach. Illustration and Web, that's easier to learn on your own, but design as a whole is a bit harder than that.

Hey, I've heard about you in Semple's class. Yeap, I'm in Animation ^^; And I really adore the art you have in the class. Do you mind if I add you as a friend? :)

How do you get the Japanese characters typed out? o,o;

[identity profile] gem2niki.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
How neat, an MP Animation student XD;; How did you find me haha?

I don't mind the friend :3

I think I recognized your art from one of the Eastridge exhibits....*maybe not* Semple is still teaching? XD;; *must visit...*

I used Microsoft Word to type it out with the IME downloaded. *google it..*

[identity profile] cityxskyline.livejournal.com 2007-01-10 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
^^ Via deviantART
I did have a few things in the exhibit...
And you should visit! It'd be cool to meet the Nancy Semple always talks about :]

[identity profile] fawnfawn.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
hahah i totally feel the same way, but that's because i never really took an interest in arting until mid college, and by then, i already made all my friends (who were non arting types) and so i just settled with deviantart =p

i always wish i had a friend to draw, and learn how to do things artwise, with too....it seems like it'd be so much fun. but now i'm stuck with a job =(

on the note about graphic design. my roommate says getting a degree would make it easier initially for you to beat other candidates who don't have a degree for good design firms and studios, but as time goes on, a GD degree won't help you win over someone's experience or portfolio. He's a designer for deutsch with only an associates in GD (which is not considered much i guess?) from a comm college and now he's in one of the top advertising agencies (from what i heard)...

also, a GD degree would help you get places better tpop, half of whose GDs don't have degrees in design hahaha....uh....i am sad.

[identity profile] gem2niki.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Hehe I've stuck with friends ever since elementart/middle school but not because they were artists but just fun to hang out with XD;; Yes deviantart is a nice place to meet other artists but is unlikely to ever meet them in person or ever draw together with. *sigh* Lucky peeps who have RL artists pals.

Haha. Thanks for the GD tips :3 I just want to train myself to get better more consistently haha since I'm learning them off and on on my own XD;;

Wait...did Fawn even graduate with any design course experience D: (like took any classes in it or are you self taught?).

[identity profile] fawnfawn.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
haha no i never took any design or art classes...it's pretty sad. My dad is a GD and when we used his computer, it was all mac and all adobe/quark so i had "training" all through middle school and high school without knowing =p but i'm the one with the crappy job, so my story i more like the "what can go wrong" scenario....but yeah in the arts, there's always a lot more emphasis on your portfolio than your education~

[identity profile] ianoji.livejournal.com 2007-01-07 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
これは、これは。。。
我慢しろ、小娘よ。。。

sorry for not hanging out more ^_^ 年のせいかもしれない。。。

i'm going for art 112b next semester, hope to see you there :3
my plan is to stay late and get extra drawing in, too! if you want to hang out, i'll see what Thobeka, Jinnybear, and other people will be doing ^_^

[identity profile] gem2niki.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Aw that's okay Ian :3 It's nice enough to have you in the same class haha. (yes see you there!!) I'm just sad-strucken that I never really had any art buddy that share the same interest etc to draw with and stuff...

I have to. I'm doing artworks for them. Haha. And it's better to start early with the prints cuz I know I'll be busy during school XD

[identity profile] lucathia.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
私も日本語が上手ではないんけど... ^^;;

[livejournal.com profile] wenletと言うとうりに「アート」はちょっと変だと思う。

え、でもね、ナンシの妹も絵を描いているね。だから、一人じゃないよ。姉妹と仲が良いよね。うらやましいよ。D=
