Did anyone ever had a superstition that you didn't really believe actually come true?

I have to write one in japanese...but nothing comes to mind...

i have no idea...i wonder if it can be something that happened to someone else. like my sister's karma.

Can't think of anything in particular.... how bout something with good luck charms or something that coincidentally gave you good luck?

Well around the time my grandfather on my mom's side died, my uncle in NY said he saw a moth at night in his room. And around the same time, my mom had a dream about a moth.

I think the Asian superstition is that the dead come back as moths to do a final visit?

I don't really believe in it since I'm of a different generation than then, but yeah.
