ONE PIECE MARATHON PART 5
September 15, 2019 - June 27, 2019 Episode 473-900
I've been trying to catch up with One Piece since last year and I'm almost there!!! I reached Wano Arc recently...so here's some thoughts on the arcs I've watched. It's been awhile since I made this post. 2009!!
Marineford: Sad arc where Ace died and traumatized me to stop the series lol But that war was waaay too dragged out with how long it took for Luffy to reach Ace. RIP ACE and White Beard.
Post-War: Luffy childhood backstory with Ace and Sabo. Prob didn't have to stop the series back then when there were more Ace content!! Oh yea the anime reminded us who the Straw Hat crew were since they've been gone for so long.
Fish-Man Island: More Jinbei is good. The animation got noticeably better in the later battle.
Punk Hazard: I don't really like when the crew separates so much...this was pretty noticeable. Didn't expect Ceasar to last that long with the crew too haha. Law and Smoker working together with Luffy was fun. Law was very cool B) The body switches was fun too haha.
Dressrosa: LONG ASSSSSSSSSSSSSS....Rebecca's boobs was most distracting. Sabo reintroduction and reunion with Luffy was touching TwT Bartolomeo being an actual fanboy was funny. Law's backstory with Corazon was super sad T_T God Usopp lol.
Zou: Surprisingly short. Furry paradise. The big reveal with them protecting the ninja was so shonen and very touching ToT
Whole Cake Island: Sanji arc!! His role kinda dwindled to being a nosebleeding joke since the Fish-man arc, so it was good seeing him more fleshed out. His family were terrible, but their transformation were very cool. GERMA 66!! Was kinda rooting him with Pudding. He finally has a girl that loves him back lol. The whole Katakuri battle was too long and felt empty. Like there's no reason Luffy and Katakuri to battle out so long without much connection or stake besides having similar power and they kinda respect each other. The music act tho was very trippy to this arc. Big Mom's backstory was really disturbing and grotesque. RIP Pedro.
~0473: whitebeard is so ridiculously strong!! i'm sad to know how it ends for him and ace orz;; (read manga) but dude, this arc is stretched out like crazy
0481: garp and luffy flashback T_T ace finally freed and flaming

0484: ughh blackbeard...also whitebeard hanging longer than i thought...two holes and still kicking ass

0487: man this is a long ass arc..even with two key players ded and many injured...
0488: char—i mean red haired shanks appears!
0489: shanks finally ending this long ass war and handling whitebeard and ace burial. thank you

0497: whoever handled the direction for this episode made it look more closer to a movie version. lots of wide shots. also sabo's addition...i thought luffy was all screaming that ace was his only brother but apparently he had another?? was he just thrown in to the story? sakaguchi daisuke played young ace and all i hear is shinpachi. sabo is played by junko takeuchi and all i hear is naruto
0499: filler was good. had a nice sakuga fight of ace and naguri. also reached episode 500!!
0502: dayummmm sabo...
0504: why you hurt me T_T ace panicking when luffy got injured....i guess after that he became more protective of him than being all tsuntsun
0505: poor dadan T_T poor luffy...also they remembered luffy's crew lol
0506-507: straw hat crew is back!! been forever...usopp got really fat...
0515: we havent seen luffy’s crew in forever and now the anime is reminding us who they are with redrawn flasbacks
0517: finally reached the time skip!!!! the fake crew are played by the real crew seiyuu but with different roles
0525: nami boobs keeps getting bigger and bigger...is this show even appropriate for kids anymore. prob the viewers were kids when they started and are now adults...
0531: after listening closely, this character is played by miyata kouki. so high pitch
0534: jinbei!!!!
0538: finally reunited with jinbei. sanji cured of his nosebleed.
0543: fisher tiger....ToT
0545: if they tossed that celstial dragon in the ocean, no one would know...
0553: the animation looked good here, esp the shading on hody jones’s hair
0569: the finally beat hordy! is this arc almost over...
0573: finished the fish-man island arc!! even post battle it still took a while to get out...
0576: when u can feel the filler arc in one piece...they land in new world and bam, filler
watching movie Z since it ties up with that filler arc
0587: some cool sakuga between law vs smoker
0588: the amount boobs in this show...bras dont exist in one piece.
0600: I reached episode 600!!!

the only flat girls in one piece are kids lol....otherwise theyre like J cup with thin ass waist...

rebecca also has a sad ass backstory...but man her charadesign...

0685: pica’s voice lmao...zoro finally gonna fight his real body
0691: almost at 700... they still havent reached doflamingo... law immobile and being carried around like a sack of rice.

0695: ending my matathon for tonight. sabo vs fujitora has a nice fight scene; what is going on with franky vs senor pink lol...theyre not even fighting but doing head spinning lol
0699: finally fighting doflamingo...almost 700!!
episode of sabo: recap movie from sabo pov...cant deny seeing ace again. some new scenes.
0700: yay a milestone!! now its law’s backstory...
0701-702: yikes...law and doflamingo backstories are really heavy back to back... humans are really cruel
0703: introduced new character that already died /o/ corazon seemed like a good guy that i will get upset for his death scene orz;
0705: waiting for that tearjerking moment...to be continued. ahh corazon seiyuu is SHOUYOU-SENSEIIII!! no wonder i get this sense of sadness from his voice

0710: baby5 got engaged to sai during battle. that was unexpected lol; everyone has shitty backstory childhood

0783: straw hat crew steals food from navy base. eats all in 10 minutes. nami gets angry their food reserves are gone.

0784: luffy poisons himself eating highly poisinous fish... >>;; this dumb boy getting defeated from his incompetency to feed himself than fights
0791: almost at 800 episodes!! they finally met up with sanji (?). be safe jimbei D;;

0800: milestone!! the fights with big mama’s children arent really interesting....get to rescuing sanji already!
0804: sanji backstory. his sis was actually nice.
0805: luffy eat fighting and nami’s like “his stomach is bottomless!”

0817: pudding was two-face. no wonder sawashiro miyuki is playing her and not just for her “sweet” side

0835: pudding failed to kill sanji. straw hats crashed the wedding. big mom gone shook. and sanji saved his evil family. next is big mom’s backstory. they aint dragging these few episodes (unlike dressrosa arc)
0837: what the heck, that got grotesque... (linlin eating semlas the size of the children)
0839: whats this quality upgrade. even the eyecandy was themed lol *germa transformation(
0843: ceasar finally got his heart back. good for him. he was a jerk, but he did go along with helping them (with his heart held hostage)
0847: big mom chasing them. sanji going to make cake. pudding is a tsundere?
0849: rip pedro TOT
0853: jimbei sailing the ship like a surfer. he gonna be part of the straw hat crew *O*
0856: ohh new opening...but the katakuri fight is too long. is he the main villain like doflamingo?
0860: bege horrible gangster...but protective of his wife, baby, and his mafia family. respect lol. this arc is dragging tho...
0862: sulong!carrot-chan!
0870: super saiyan luffy (snakeman)!
0871: katakuri finally defeated. he seems to be equal to luffy in skills/strength with how long the battle was. but he barely had any backstory compared to all the previous main villains...
0872: ahh pekoms!! TOT and then ahhhh germa 66 *_*!!
0874: sanji and luffy finally on ship...now to wait for big mom to eat the cake...
0877: jimbei leaving strawhat crew so they can escape from big mom territory :( looks like whole cake arc ended at last!!
0880: sabo!!!!
0891: after all the reverie + recap fillers, reached wano kuni arc!!!
0892: woot that episode felt so different from the regular series. like an opening to a movie

0895: filler tie-in to stampede film...
gold film: hmm i think the problem with these films is it doesn't give enough time to empathize with the villain? they just threw his backstory in like a 1 minute flashback....
