Clay sculpting

I've embarked on a new art journey. Clay sculptures. Its tedious and stressful...but exciting?

My first attempt since college I did with some leftover clay from like basic figure drawing class in college where we sculpted a block figure to understand form. But I have no sculpting training in college....So I'm totally winging it. NITORIIII.

But it doesn't harden, so I went around looking for clay that can bake. I had left over super sculpey from BFA class but it was rather mushy to work with. And now I've bought Firm clay which is closer to the oil clay I used previously.

Right now I've been buying a lot of tools to make my first baked figure. I'll share progress later~ Also I've been buying a shit ton of tools recently XD;; Coworker also saw my tweet and gave me her sculpting tools and clay since she will be moving.

I hope I can get good so I can make a shit load of Nitori figures since official aren't giving him any more buuuuu

It looks super cool! So smooth! I love how you're dabbling in other types of media. Is it also easier on your arms/shoulders?

You need to make a nyanko sensei one later! :DD

Lol it making my left hand worst...because I'm holding onto something so small and get really into it trying to sculpt it to the right shape that I lose track of time orz; I will need to take breaks from this as well.

Once I master nekoatsume, although they're fairly similar!

I saw your progress on Twitter! :D I can't wait to see your results. You're so dedicated! :3 Sculpting is so hard for me because I tend to leave fingerprints. Your model looks super cute!

Thanks!! There seems to be a bunch of technique to keep fingerprints smoothed out. I'm learning as I go~

Kya he's so cute!! =^__^= I'm so impressed ~ that must be so hard to go from drawing to sculpting!

Thanks~
The weird thing its actually easy to get into? I think because I took 3d modeling class in college, so its the same thing, except I'm actually sculpting a physical object! But it is rather tedious and requires a lot of tools and knowledge to work on clay modeling than I expected. Spent so much money haha.
